Ethan Knapp

University of Northern Colorado

From the Nominator(s): Ethan is a very hardworking individual who shows a lot of passion for his job and the students he works for. Watching him at admissions events inspires me to be a better admissions counselor and treat every student with as much service and enthusiasm as I possibly can. He is a ray of sunshine at fairs and visits, and he has a smile for all colleagues and students that he talks to!

Ethan has been the biggest to support to SO many counselors across various universities during his time at UNC. He’s the first one to introduce himself and take new counselors under his wing. He’s the first one to get a caravan going and the first one to plan a counselor outing after a night fair. From the student perspective, Ethan is a listening ear and kind face that students gravitate towards! His genuine enthusiasm is unmatched and something we all should strive to achieve! Without Ethan, life on the road wouldn’t be the same!

The Colorado Council for High School and College Relations (CCHS/CR) seeks to recognize admissions professionals in higher education who are going above and beyond in their work. We are proud of the work that you do to support high school students in making informed decisions regarding post-secondary education. We want to honor individuals doing exceptional work in the day-to-day of a college admissions setting. 2026 Nomination eligibility and criteria:

Candidate must be a current professional college admissions staff (directors/supervisors are also eligible)
Multiple nominations for the same person (by different people) are accepted
Current year award recipients are not eligible until the next calendar year

Award recipients will receive:

$100 gift card
A certificate of recognition from Colorado Council - Counselor of the Month Committee
Highlight/spotlight on our website, social media page, and/or email newsletter
