High School Counselor of the Month

 Congratulations to our August Counselor of the Month!

From the Nominator: One of Jen’s greatest strengths is her ability to connect with students and make each of them feel like they truly have a place at BHS. She has a way of meeting students where they are, building genuine relationships, and helping them find a sense of belonging. Whether that means connecting a student with the right resources, encouraging them to get involved, or inviting them to join one of the clubs she supervises, Jen makes sure students know they are seen and valued. She understands that sometimes having one adult who believes in you, and one place where you feel like you belong, can make all the difference. And Jen does just that every single day. Jen is an incredible counselor, mentor, and advocate for both students and staff. We are so lucky to have her at Bayfield High School!

 The Colorado Council for High School and College Relations (CCHS/CR) seeks to recognize high school counselors who are going above and beyond and who warrant recognition. CCHS/CR is proud of the work that you do to support students with social/emotional needs, college and career goals, and crisis response, and we want to recognize individuals doing exceptional work in the day-to-day of a school setting.
